Way back in February I explored some abandoned dodgems, giving me my first taste of urbexing. Since then i’ve been interested in pursuing the hobby further but it’s taken until now to actually do so. Here are some shots from my first proper Urbex adventure!
Steve and I set off not especially knowing where we were going, but that added to the feel of adventure! Both of us were feeling pretty ropey from the night before so we had plenty of wrong turns and missed junctions before we actually arrived at our destination.

Doesn’t look too huge from the outside huh? Boy were we in for a surprise…
Before heading in we decided to have a look around the grounds and various outbuildings, this is the side of the building.
And a slightly bright shot of the rear, very overgrown around here.
Carrying on around to the other side we came across someones camp.
Time to explore an outbuilding, this one looked like it might’ve been a stable once..
Right, on to actually exploring the house! Obviously beginning with the ground floor 
Time to brave those stairs…
After this room we decided to venture up a narrow flight of stairs to see what kind of state the roof was in.
Roof tiles were pretty much all gone, meaning rain and allsorts runs straight into the house, real shame.

This bit was a little scary… some floor was missing and had been replaced by a door, which was in no good state either.
The next few rooms were in much better condition than the rest with wallpaper, fittings and some furniture remaining.
Ground floor, done. First floor, done. Roof, done. Basement? er… why not..
Despite being creepy and dark as hell the basement was actually really interesting, housing the boiler room, kitchen and copius amounts of storage.
And with that we were done, we made our exit back to the outside world and home.
Great place, now where to go next?

I totally agree, this place would’ve been an amazing home, it was massive! Great place to explore but I would like to see it restored to it’s former glory.
It wasn’t actually too unstable, just that one corridor with a door laid across a hole – my student house was worse!
